I have been teaching e-learning classes in Kenya. More than 50 % of the class has been faithfully attending the classes for the last half of the semester. Towards the end, the attendance has slowed down for synchronous interactions but quite fine for asynchronous interactions. what can one do to captivate students online?

  1. I myself will recommend that every e-learning student be given a laptop by the university and the price of it be included in the fees if possible its price be distributed to enable one to pay it through out his/her learning.this will give a lecture a surety that every student can be able to access the computer.
this is because take in my case iam in northern part of the country and where iam, accessing a computer is next to impossible.
Also most of us might not be able to save save enough to buy a good laptop because on the other side iam saving fees. so if distributed i will not feel that pain.

  2. Thanks, I have enjoyed the sessions we have had weekly, the interactions were on point as though in physical class, The future of education I believe is in E-Learning.

  3. I had not expected E-learning to be such informative and interactive until you took me in this unit SIT 402, indeed its as good as classwork and further makes it flexible for those who are employed. Its a new concept for higher education in Africa and I see its getting in better and better. Meanwhile, I feel there is a need for a better e-platform where image of students and and that if teachers can be seen for live interactive video conferencing.
    Goodluck Mwalimu, keep it up.
